“Sod the wine, I want to suck on the writing. This man White is an instinctive writer, bloody rare to find one who actually pulls it off, as in still gets a meaning across with concision. Sharp arbitrage of speed and risk, closest thing I can think of to Cicero’s ‘motus continuum animi.’

Probably takes a drink or two to connect like that: he literally paints his senses on the page.”

MILTON WORDLEY BY PHILIP WHITE

This occurred this morning when I was absorbing a breakfast Highland Park and a pipe at the courtyard table when I said 'Milton stop there. Stand on the mat. I want to take your photograph.' I love Milton. We are good mates. He is the best photographer, and this is the first real photograph I have dared to make of him. His place ... notice how he chose to NOT stand in the middle of the mat. Emulsional ... below is the front of his beautiful house, where he lives with his beloved Champagniac, Anne Marie ... both photos by  Philip White
