“Sod the wine, I want to suck on the writing. This man White is an instinctive writer, bloody rare to find one who actually pulls it off, as in still gets a meaning across with concision. Sharp arbitrage of speed and risk, closest thing I can think of to Cicero’s ‘motus continuum animi.’

Probably takes a drink or two to connect like that: he literally paints his senses on the page.”

SEASON'S GREETINGS FROM DA DRINKSTERS

After a hectic whirl getting his recent king-hell exhibition finished, hung and adored, DRINKSTER's shotgun rider, George Grainger Aldridge, has retreated, as he does, to his hideout in the Flinders. Here's his Santa selfie. This is an Exmess card from the two of us, with profound thanks for your cameraderie.  That's our man at work below, home in the bush. Seeing things. George doesn't see things like we do. Bottom is the author's Exmess selfie: oof blind Santa in preacher black; no bag of gifts [all cats are grey in the dark.] Have a cool Yule, imbibe with skill and abandon, and please don't go playing in the traffic.
